Sam Kamleh

RIBA - MA(RCA) MBA (Dip IC)- Director / Founder

Sam is the founding director here at architecture:wk Ltd. Her strong leadership skills and astute design understanding allow her to lead a successful team of designers, delivering a consistent, high-quality standard of design within the residential sector. Sam’s commitment to sustainability in construction, and upgrading existing housing stock to meet current living and environmental criteria, has rewarded the practice with a number of nominations and publications over the years, and demonstrates the care and consideration that goes into every project we undertake.

Sam is a member of the RIBA Small Practice Committee, former member of the RIBA Disciplinary Committee and a member of Richmond Planning Department’s Design Panel.  An MBA from Imperial College London, in addition to her architectural training at Plymouth University, the AA and the Royal College of Art, also gives Sam an expert understanding of Developer Client requirements.

Sam qualified as a 200hr TTC Yoga Instructor in 2019 and has recently been appointed a Trustee of the Twickenham Riverside Trust.

Duncan Chapman

Senior Consultant - MA Dip (Arch.)

Having been a founder member of Circus Architects, a Millennium Awards winning Multi Sector Practice, Duncan co-founded rCOH Ltd, the UK’s leading Neighbourhood Planning Consultancy. Duncan has a depth of expertise ranging from the master-planning of settlement extensions and mixed use development, to the design of award winning housing units.

Most notable is Duncan’s experience working with local communities in the preparation of Neighbourhood Orders, as evidenced by his role leading the design and draftwork for the first Community Right to Build Orders to pass referendum in the UK, and comprising two sites for housing of 20 downsizer  dwellings and a new Village Hall in Ferring Parish Council in Sussex.

Duncan qualified as a Chartered Architect in 1992.

Accounts Manager - BSc Economics - Exeter

After graduating in Economics and years working in hospitality in Switzerland, Justine retrained as a Book Keeper.   She is a keen cook and a superb hostess.

Stavroula Birda

Architect - MA Arch, MSc Architecture, Urbanism & Building Science

After graduating as an Architect in Greece, Stavroula obtained her Masters at the prestigious Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. Before joining Architecture WK she worked on a range of residential, retail and restoration projects in Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina.  She is interested in restoration, re-use, conservation and sustainability, and in the cultural values of buildings.  She enjoys arts and crafts, traveling and reading.

Damian Jakubek

Damian Jakubek

Architect - MArch (Dip Architecture)

Damian obtained his Masters from the University of Dundee. Prior to joining Architecture WK he worked for practices in Cape Town and Prague on projects including residential, administrative and holiday resort buildings. He believes architecture should take inspiration from its cultural and environmental context.  Damian enjoys cycling and is currently preparing for his Part III RIBA qualifying exams.

Office Manager

Jenny is our new part time Office Manager.  Having joined Architecture WK recently, Jenny is your first point of contact and always a ray of sunshine in the office.

Jenny enjoys talking to prospective clients about their plans and assisting them in taking the next step, supplying information regarding our working process, and directing queries to the right person on the team.

She also takes care of the day to day studio management and organises the diary.

Prior to joining Architecture WK she has worked in a variety of admin roles and when she’s not in the office, she’s a fantastic Yoga teacher.
