Just come and look how Architecture WK have transformed our boring Edwardian House next to a very sensitive building into a jaw dropping masterpiece!
Featured in Beautiful Kitchens Magazine and a finalist in the AJ's Retrofit Awards (2013), the transformation succeeded in bringing light, space and texture to Joe & Amys home. This beautiful extension and refurbishment by our architects obtained Planning Permission adjacent to the famous Turner House and in Conservation Area.
Joe & Amy wanted to update and extend their detached 1930’s home to make it more to their taste and to bring in light and texture to each room. The couple enjoy international hotels in their travels and wanted to bring the eclectic style they have experienced whilst travelling.
The property is adjacent to a listed building and is in a Conservation Area and in through meetings with the Planners we obtained approval for their kitchen extension. The gardens have an unusual relationship to the house and, where previously there was no direct access, our clients wanted to link the house with the lowered landscaped area. We helped create the side patio at the same level as the living space and access to the lower gardens by creating a floating extension, cantilevered and elegantly poised with views and steps to the terraced garden.
This beautiful extension and refurbishment by our architects obtained Planning Permission adjacent to the famous Turner House and in Conservation Area.
The existing loft, added in the 1970’s was a rather unattractive tiled extension with oversized windows. By changing the cladding and the window arrangement, and insulating the existing walls a bedroom suite was created in the loft with an en-suite bath and dressing room. There had also been some unused space in the roof which we extended into to form a gym.
We worked with Amy & Joe through every space, including the hard landscaping design and interior design to completion on site. The project was featured in Beautiful Kitchens Magazine and was a finalist in the AJ’s Retrofit Awards (2013).

The hand painted kitchen was designed to be in the heart of the house, with an island unit where the family tend to gather for breakfast, coffee mornings with friends and after work meal time conversations.
AWK listens, is client centred, innovative, well organised and an excellent project manager. She pays attention to detail. Most of all she is passionate about her work. A great Architect and example of all that is good in the profession at such a challenging time.
This is one of our favourite - and earliest - projects. With a tight budget and a small kitchen in need of updating, Nick and Rachel wanted to create an interesting kitchen extension to their terraced Victorian property in Twickenham
The first floor was changed from a standard semi detached layout to have two large bedrooms with en-suites, one with a dressing room - a more practical and comfortable arrangement for the cosmopolitan couple.
