This is one of our favourite - and earliest - projects. With a tight budget and a small kitchen in need of updating, Nick and Rachel wanted to create an interesting kitchen extension to their terraced Victorian property in Twickenham. They wanted to retain the dining room in its original position and extend the outrigger kitchen to allow for a seating area. We proposed a "sunken conversation pit" - an stepped down area with built in seating - that allows views over the garden and changes the sense of height and space in that area. This has been a wonderful and much enjoyed addition to the home - filled with light, it is a pleasure to have friends over. When our clients had young babies, they then used the area as a play pen! We are now working with them on their next project.
