"We will never bring disgrace on this our City by an act of dishonesty or cowardice. We will fight for the ideals and Sacred Things of the City both alone and with many. We will revere and obey the City's laws, and will do our best to incite a like reverence and respect in those above us who are prone to annul them or set them at naught. We will strive unceasingly to quicken the public's sense of civic duty. Thus, in all these ways, we will transmit this City not only, not less, but greater and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us."

In addition to the causes we support in making financial contributions, we also believe in volunteering some of our time as trained professionals to suggesting improvements to local sites. Usually, these are self-generated projects with no client and no agenda; they are ideas, to be bounced around, discussed and hopefully contribute positively to our locality, providing socially useful dialogue for our community.
Some of the ideas in one of our Social Initiative Projects, the proposal for Strawberry Hill Village, was incorporated into the 2017 Local Plan after it was well received by local residents. Another gifted project to the Teddington Residents’ Association was to prepare a planning application for the World War I memorial Poppies in Elmfield Gardens.
We now have several projects ‘on the drawing board’, whenever time and resources allow. If you have any positive contribution to the ideas or comments or would like to know more about them, do get in touch.
‘In an environment which is well designed, attractive, clearly defined and well maintained, people are likely to take pride in their surroundings…feel comfortable and safe and have a sense of shared ownership and responsibility.’
Association of Chief Police Officers March 2004
We love this room; it is now our favourite room in the house. If any of us need quiet time, this is where we escape to - a beautiful, peaceful space. Thank you Architecture WK

We were so pleased to assist ETNA Community Centre in St Margaret's with their extension for the Real Junk Food Project.
Our Design in a Day workshop was fun, productive and a real pleasure. AWK listened to our brief and came up with a design that would not have occurred to us without her input.
I'm very happy to give Architecture: WK my highest recommendation. The project management was utterly worth it as it took all of the stress out of the building process, which I had neither the experience nor the time to manage effectively myself. What particularly stands out for me is how AWK marries exceptional creative talent and attention to the smallest detail of a design, with very hands-on, practical expertise when it comes to execution, to deliver a very high quality build. I found them to be the most wonderful people to work with.
Sam and her team provided the right mix of challenge, creativity and support right the way through the process. We are delighted with the outcomes”

Sam took all our concerns and wishes into account and came up with a plan that we’re very excited about. We can’t wait to get building and start living in our eco-luxe dream house.
@ArchitectureWK: Thank you for being the fantastic architect who made our house look so cool in @Grazia_Live!
There is a history of Cinema venues in Teddington and wouldn't it be wonderful to have another one now on the HSBC site?
A speculative proposal for an Electric Cinema style venue to give new life and focal point to the High Street.
Our Design in a Day workshop was fun, productive and a real pleasure. AWK listened to our brief and came up with a design that would not have occurred to us without her input.
A proposal for a cohesive, attractive and functional village centre for discussion with local residents and the many users of Strawberry Hill station and shops.
We love our architect’s vision for the refurb and we hope you’ll share our excitement!
Sam Kamleh from local architects AWK has worked closely with us to make our dreams for the stables one big step closer to reality.
I really love the new kitchen and the space you designed. It is so light and welcoming but still works with the rest of the house. I hope you are as pleased with it as we are. We really enjoyed working with you on this project and would strongly recommend your practice to other people.
Thank you so much for the wine as well. We shall certainly raise a glass to you and your team.
Sam of A:WK spent time familiarising herself with the surrounding area and the site of our proposed project, before talking with us at length, and listening attentively to get a feel for our hopes and requirements. She was positive and enthusiastic, while pointing out some practical constraints and possibilities that non-professionals would not be aware of. I love my new home and am delighted to have gone through the building process with A:WK by my side.
The brief was for an eco restaurant with a green living roof, and clear views around the Green.
The former disused public convenience was transformed to a practical, light filled space to serve both office space and art gallery.
The proposal would have a positive effect on character, with a proposal for an elegant structure to replace the existing one. The significant soft landscape input is welcomed
The hand painted kitchen was designed to be in the heart of the house, with an island unit where the family tend to gather for breakfast, coffee mornings with friends and after work meal time conversations.
We really enjoyed the process of working with Sam and the team. We found the home workshop visits really helped us work out what we wanted and Sam was amazing at talking us through the process and understanding our requirements. The plans that were created were amazing and really brought everything to life. So would wholeheartedly recommend Architecture:WK!
Just come and look how Architecture WK have transformed our boring Edwardian House next to a very sensitive building into a jaw dropping masterpiece!
We love Neatsmith in Hampton and have worked collaboratively on several projects. We were delighted to help with the design and planning application for their shopfront when they moved from Teddington to Hampton.
We loved helping The Lion Pub landlord with his planning application for the garden sheds and landscaping!
We love our home now and we love the light coming through. It is a joy to be at home! Thank you. Come over soon!
A thoroughly enjoyable experience! The carefully considered approach resulted in a design beyond our expectations. I have already recommended awk to friends and colleagues.
The glass skylight on the ridge of the roof brings in daylight two floors down into the entrance hall past the mezzanine level landing to this north facing home.
We love our home now and we love the light coming through. It is a joy to be at home! Thank you. Come over soon!
The design was key; perfectly complementing our house, creating enjoyable, light spaces, and we were delighted with their outstanding customer service throughout - from design to completion!
This is one of our favourite - and earliest - projects. With a tight budget and a small kitchen in need of updating, Nick and Rachel wanted to create an interesting kitchen extension to their terraced Victorian property in Twickenham
Our new home is warm, light and spacious, and has that ‘wow factor’ that you get from investing in an architect.
The first floor was changed from a standard semi detached layout to have two large bedrooms with en-suites, one with a dressing room - a more practical and comfortable arrangement for the cosmopolitan couple.
The glazed walls and roof give the effect of a glass box inserted into the extension, bringing light into the heart of the main living space.

Architecture:WK's Design in a Day workshop was a great opportunity to share exciting & practical ideas on how to maximise the space & light. AWK gave a high quality presentation of the design, which they have since developed into more detailed drawings & submitted successfully through planning. Looking forward to the next stages!
Our 'Design in a Day' experience was fantastic. They seemed to really get what we wanted to do. The final presentation helped us decide what we did and did not want to move forward with. We decided to continue with A:WK all the way through to finished construction drawings and now feel confident and well-armed moving into the actual build.
All going well at TPR and thoroughly enjoying the addition to our home! We love our space, thank you!
The state of its shops, roads, parks, schools and community infrastructures, make a difference to our towns and our collective sense of pride in the area.
We love this room; it is now our favourite room in the house. If any of us need quiet time, this is where we escape to - a beautiful, peaceful space. Thank you Architecture WK
Thank you so much for all your work on our project! And thank you for the wine; we will take pleasure sipping a nice glass of vino whilst admiring our lovely surroundings!
We are so glad we found AWK. We are delighted with the stunning design but even more so with the exemplary service provided by Sam, Tuc and the rest of the team. It would be hard to find a more technically proficient practice and even harder to find a more customer friendly team.
Thank you to all of you at Architecture:WK for helping to make our house a home we can be proud of. We love it!
AWK listens, is client centred, innovative, well organised and an excellent project manager. She pays attention to detail. Most of all she is passionate about her work. A great Architect and example of all that is good in the profession at such a challenging time.
Thank you for your work on our project. We love our new home!
